Back in the Saddle Soon: A Week of Recovery, Testing Limits, and Watching Zwift Evolve

So yeah, it’s been a bit of a different week for me—off the bike for the most part, which has actually been a welcome change. Sometimes it’s good to step back, let the body recover, and reset the mind.

That said, I did manage to squeeze in a tough one: the infamous Minute On Minute off workout (below). I tackled that on Saturday. It might sound short, but don’t let the name fool you—the entire thing stretched out to about 39 minutes. It was pretty brutal. Absolutely exhausting by the end, and it definitely pushed me to the edge. Still, it felt great to challenge myself in a different way.

One thing I did notice this week was Zwift’s latest update. They’ve rolled out new health stats within the app, which is a solid move in the right direction. It’s nice to see them taking data and performance tracking a bit more seriously. But to be honest, it’s still lacking compared to what platforms like TrainerRoad offer. Zwift’s version feels a bit surface-level right now, and if you’re into detailed metrics and in-depth workout analysis, it’s not quite there yet.

That said, I’m hopeful. It feels like Zwift is laying the groundwork for something bigger, and I’ll be watching closely to see how these updates evolve as I start ramping up my workouts again.

Looking forward to getting back on the bike soon—refreshed, recharged, and ready to dig into some proper training.
